For this assignment, we went to the CSO Building, took photos and made sketches.
In this assignment, we abstracted the image given by expanding it to the given dimensions. We endeavored to depict the depth, light, and textual features of the image by simply drawing parallel lines.
Orthographic projection is drawing three-dimensional objects in two dimensions from different angles. In this assignment, you can find a two-dimensional drawing of an object from the top, right side and front.
In this assignment we were expected to design a digital poster for the final exhibition of ARCH 101 course.
Gerrit Rietveld | 1963
Gerrit Rietveld was one of the important designers of his time and he designed his last work The Steltman Chair at the age of 75. The purpose of The Steltman Chair was originally made for a jeweler to make two of them for engaged couples to sit on while trying on their rings. Due to the asymmetrical structure and design of the chair, we observe lines and plains from every perspective. Although the original Steltman Chairs were covered with a white coating, they are now more known for their wooden appearance.
In this assignment, we analyzed a facade, layered it and made a 3D construct of our analysis.
In this assignment, we were assigned to produce a 3D construct which defines a series of well-defined volumes with the greatest complexity we achieve by using the operations given to us.
In this assignment, we took photos from the same frame at different times of the day and analyzed the shadows. We applied the operations we obtained from our analysis to the initial structure given to us.
In this assignment, we made a model by abstracting 3 scenes from a movie we chose. Then, we divided our model into three parts, replaced our 2 model parts with other students, and created a new model with those parts.
First of all, when we ask hundreds of people what music means, we may get hundreds of different answers. As conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein said, ‘Music is never about anything; music just is. Music is notes – beautiful notes and sounds put together in such a way that we get pleasure out of listening to them.’ music is all about feelings. Even though we try to narrow this definition and connect the magnificent harmony of those sounds and rhythms to topics and stories, music has a quality that can overcome all these limitations.
Even though trying to find the meaning of everything is one of the most basic characteristics of human beings, I do not think that this feature can help us with this question. Music can create a common consciousness in people. When we listen to a music, the feelings that the melody gives us will be similar to other people. These common feelings that melodies provide us may be the moments when we humans can feel closest to each other.
